Privacy Policy

1. The short version

PATerminal contains no telemetry, no analytics, and no tracking. The app does not collect usage data, and everything you type stays on your machine.

2. What the app sends, and when

The only network communication the app initiates on its own is license validation, which contacts Polar (our Merchant of Record) and sends exactly:

  • your license key,
  • a device label (so you can recognize the device when managing activations),
  • the app version.

3. What the app never sends

Terminal contents, commands, file contents, prompts to your CLI agents, directory names, and any other working data never leave your machine through PATerminal. Validation happens every 7 days with a 30-day offline grace period; being offline simply skips the check.

4. Purchases

Payments are processed by Polar Software Inc. as Merchant of Record. When you buy a license, Polar collects the billing information needed to process the purchase under its own privacy policy. We receive the information necessary to issue and manage your license, and we do not receive your full payment details.

5. This website

We use Google Analytics 4 to measure page visits and interactions with download and purchase links. Google Analytics may set first-party analytics cookies. Google Signals and advertising personalization are disabled in our Google Analytics settings, and we do not use this data to track use of the PATerminal app.

We use Sentry to receive technical error reports when this website fails. Reports can include error messages, stack traces, the page path, browser and device information. We configure Sentry not to send cookies, request headers, or URL query strings.
