Pull requests and issues
The Git window also shows the GitHub pull requests and issues of the current repository, so you can go from an issue to a running agent — or from a review comment to a fix — without opening the browser.
Written for PATerminal v1.8.3
Set up the GitHub CLI
Pull requests and issues use your own GitHub CLI. Install gh and sign in once:
gh auth loginPATerminal never asks for or stores a GitHub token. If issues don't load, it tells you to check that gh is installed and signed in.
Pull requests
- The PR list shows each pull request with its state (Open, Draft, Merged, Closed).
- Open one to see its Conversation — description, reviews (Approved, Changes requested), and line comments — and its Files with full diffs.
- Copy on a comment copies the file location and comment, ready to paste into an agent.
- New session creates a shell session for the PR; for a separate checkout, create a worktree from the PR.
- Open on GitHub opens it in your browser.
Issues
- Browse open and closed issues with their labels, assignees, and comments.
- New session on an issue starts a session to work on it. Tick Create a worktree from a selected branch to give it its own worktree and branch first.
- Link an existing branch to this issue creates a GitHub linked branch and pushes only that local branch (Link & push).
Create an issue
- In the issue list, press Create.
- Enter a Title and Body.
- Optionally Add files — screenshots, logs, and so on.
- Press Create.
Note
Attachments are uploaded to a PATerminal-managed GitHub Release in the repository and linked from the issue body, because the GitHub CLI can't attach files to issues directly.
