Session split view

Panes split one session. Session split shows several whole sessions on one screen — say, four agents working on four tasks — while each keeps its own panes, folders, and processes.

Written for PATerminal v1.8.3

Show sessions together

  1. Click Session split in the toolbar.
  2. Check two or more sessions in the list (use the search box to filter).
  3. Choose Grid, Side by side, or Stacked.
  4. Press Show together.

You can also select sessions in the sidebar with Cmd/Ctrl + click and press Show together in the selection bar, or drag a session from the sidebar onto the left, right, top, or bottom edge of a terminal to add it there.

Working in a split

  • Click any terminal to type into its session; only one terminal has the focused border.
  • Each session gets a colored border that matches its marker in the sidebar.
  • Drag the boundaries between sessions to resize them.
  • In a tile's header, Show this session only (⛶) shows that session alone, and Remove from view (×) takes it out of the arrangement — the session keeps running.
