A tour of the window

PATerminal's window has four areas: the session sidebar on the left, the toolbar across the top, the phrase bar under it, and the terminal panes that fill the rest. Here is what each one is for.

Panes, the pane bar, and the path bar

Each terminal pane has a bar on top and a path bar at the bottom.

Pane bar (top)
The pane's name (double-click to rename), the detected agent, the Git controls for that pane's folder — branch, ↑/↓ counts, changed files, Diff, Worktree, Commit, Fetch, Pull, Push — and buttons to restart or close the pane.
Path bar (bottom)
The pane's current folder, shown in full. Click it to open the folder browser, move the terminal, copy the path, or start a session in another folder.

Quick phrase bar

Once you save a quick phrase, a bar appears between the toolbar and the terminals. Click a chip to type it into the focused terminal, or press Cmd/Ctrl+P to pick one with the keyboard. Click the bar's empty area or ▾ to collapse it to one line.
